A tribute to Shirley Chisholm and Fannie Lou Hamer.

Amidst the endless stream of negativity and horror, I find solace in the simple joys of life: good food, good company, and good conversation. I have these talks with friends, over tacos, drinks, processo floats... only to burst into laughter over the absurdity of our everyday lives. It's in these moments of levity that we find strength and resilience.

Daydreaming, I imagine Hamer and Chisolm sharing a late-night snack, building and imagining a world where we all feel lighter. While we may never know if they crossed paths, I like to imagine that they found camaraderie and inspiration in each other’s company.

This pin is a tribute to these extraordinary women and the power of community. It’s a reminder that even in the darkest of times, we can find joy, hope, and solidarity in the simplest of pleasures. Let’s raise a glass (or a taco) to the pioneers who paved the way for us all.
